Comments
Creating New Comments
Highlight the text you want to comment on and click the Comment button which appears above the highlighted text.
The Comment window will open on the left. Enter your notes and select 'Add' to save your comment. Use @ to add email addresses to your comment; the project will automatically be shared with them so that they can see and reply to your comments. |
|
Coloring Comments
You can set the color of your comment and its highlight from the comment's menu ( The color you select will become the default color for your comments going forward. |
Replying to Comments
Clicking "reply" will create a nested response below that comment. Replies can be expanded or collapsed by clicking the – # replies ^ – button below the original comment. |
Viewing and Filtering Comments
Access the Comments Feed via the 'View' menu. This provides a list of all comments left by you or any collaborator. From here users can add more comments or reply to existing ones.

Resolving Comments
Job done? Agreement reached? Cut down on the noise by 'resolving' a comment. If you are the author of the comment, open the comment, and select 'resolve'. You can also resolve comments authored by others that you have been @mentioned in, by simply clicking the 'resolve' button on the comment. Resolved comments can be accessed via the View menu > Resolved Comment |
|
Reopening Comments
You can also 'reopen' a comment from within the 'resolved' filter view. Click on the comment and select 'reopen'.
|
Showing or Hiding Comment Tags
This can be done from the 'View' menu > 'Comment Tags'. When enabled, the script will show the highlighted text where a comment is linked to. |
Collaborating Via Mentions
To get the attention of a specific collaborator, you can "mention" them. Start by typing the "@" symbol. You can type their name to narrow down this list and hit tab to complete once the email is correct.
If you don't see a collaborator listed, you can now "@" mention their email to share the project with them. @email@domain.com, for example. A confirmation dialog will be presented before sharing takes place.
Please note: depending on your studio permissions, collaborating via mentions may not be an option.
Mentions Email
Once a comment is added, the mentioned collaborator will receive an email with a link to that comment and a preview of its contents.
Global Comments in Non-Script Documents
For documents and tools other than script editors, 'global' comments are available. These can be accessed from the 'View' menu > 'Comments'.
These function in the same way, but are not associated with particular elements of a given document. For example, if you're commenting on an asset in your Catalogue, be sure to include specific reference to that asset in the comment itself. Note that certain permission states (like 'read-only' mode via Sharable Link or Client Approval) will allow for users and guests to make global comments within a script editor, too.
Filtering Comments in Non-Script Documents
From the Comment list, you can filter your comments by two different conditions: 'active' and 'resolved'. To do this, click the dropdown menu to the left of the 'new' button. |
Project Summary Emails
When teams have highly specified roles, it can be a challenge to keep on eye on the project-as-a-whole. Celtx's Project Activity emails help you keep track of changes made in tools and documents across the entire team and project.
You can turn off Project Summary Emails from your Account Settings.
